Our Optimal Bluegill line contains a variety of pellet sizes to target a wide range of fish sizes. However, freshly stocked fish tend to be smaller than the 5”+ range we recommend for the Bluegill line. Freshly stocked fish also can come with another challenge…they’ve never seen a fish food pellet before. Optimal Junior is designed to target both of these challenges.
Fish meal can be a powerful ingredient in feeds of all kinds. Many enthusiasts look for it on the label. Most people do not know that there are hundreds if not thousands of grades of fish meal. Each grade has its own strength and weakness, but one thing is certain, they are all different. Optimal Fish Food has decades of experience in creating, evaluating, and utilizing ingredients for aquafeeds. Through this experience, we have learned how to match the right protein source to the right goal.
Optimal Junior is created with very high-grade fish meal proteins called hydrolysates. These hydrolysates possess characteristics that increase palatability in most marine and freshwater species. By combining the right protein sources with a smaller diameter mixed lengths pellet size, Optimal Junior is the answer to feeding small newly stocked fish. Optimal Junior is a 42% protein and 10% lipid diet formulated for young finicky eaters. We have received stories of successfully feed trained fish ranging from redear to yellow perch, even muskie!
For use in feeding bluegill and other pond fish species. To minimize impacts on water quality, feed as much food in ten minutes as fish will consume. Feeding at the same time every day is suggested. For more feeding information and tips, visit optimalfishfood.com/feeding-tips.
